Jordi Recasens and Guillerme Ferreira to explore the practical application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating common conditions such as osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and shoulder, as well as tendon injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Orthobiological medicine is not just an alternative, but a necessity for patients who seek to treat the cause of their pain rather than merely provide temporary relief from symptoms.<\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"5\"><strong>The End of the Era of Cumulative Corticosteroid Use<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">One of the key messages conveyed by our Medical Director, <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"74\">Dr. Jorge Ordu\u00f1a<\/b>, is the importance of avoiding the side effects of corticosteroids. Cartilage damage, high blood pressure, and an increased risk of infection are real risks that depend on the total cumulative dose. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Unlike corticosteroids, PRP can be repeated with virtually no side effects, making it an ideal tool both for slowing the progression of the disease and for improving the patient&#8217;s quality of life while awaiting surgery.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"8\"><strong>PRP for the Knee, Hip, and Shoulder: What to Expect?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"9\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mivisalud.com\/en\/knee-pain\/\">Knee<\/a> and Hip:<\/b> PRP offers the greatest benefit in the early stages (Grades 1 and 2).
