What is Myofascial Therapy?
Myofascial therapy is a non-invasive manual physiotherapeutic treatment that seeks the release of the connective tissue called fascia when it suffers a dysfunction. This tissue covers our entire body, including, organs, tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, etc; it allows our body to support itself, maintain structure and connection together. In this connection lies its importance, so any trauma, blow or surgery will affect it directly generating possible discomfort and pain not only on the area but also in other parts of the body in response to the tension that produces the core of the pain.

Diagnosis and assessment:
In order to correctly apply this treatment and obtain the effectiveness it can provide, a correct diagnosis and evaluation of the patient is essential. For this, a visit to the physiotherapist is essential, where we will ask specific questions that, together with the physical examination and evaluation of the complementary tests, will allow us to determine more precisely what the cause or causes of the pain are.
Treatment:
Through the different manual therapeutic techniques, we will eliminate the restrictions present in the fascial tissue and achieve the balance and correct dynamics of the fascial system through pressure and gentle and sustained stretching.
Continuity:
Stretching, posture re-education, good motor control, breathing exercises, and exercises to gain flexibility can help us to keep the fascia healthy and prevent possible damage.
