Description

Dr. Guilherme Ferreira Dos Santos is the current Director of the Pain Unit of MIVI Salud at its headquarters in Barcelona-Sagrat Cor.

Trained in Medicine at the University of Lisbon and specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he completed a fellowship in chronic pain at the University of Toronto.

He has a solid international career -including research stays at the Mayo Clinic (USA)- and is a reference in ultrasound-guided and interventional techniques for the treatment of pain.

He has published more than 35 articles in high impact international journals, and received relevant awards such as the “Young Clinical Researcher of the Year” and the World Academy of Pain Medicine United fellowship.

2024 - Present: Director of Clinical Fellowship Program in Interventional Pain Medicine
2023 - Present: Senior Specialist and Clinical Manager of the Center of Excellence in Education and Training in Pain Medicine - Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

2022: Clinical Fellowship in Chronic Pain Medicine - University of Toronto (Canada), with Drs. Anuj Bhatia, Paul Tumber and Philip Peng.
2018 and 2021: Visiting Clinical Research Scholar - Mayo Clinic, Department of Pain Medicine (USA), under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Friedrich Hurdle.
2020: Specialty in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (5-year Residency) - Portugal
2014: Degree in Medicine - University of Lisbon (Portugal).

Academic and research experience

Since 2022: Participation as lecturer and clinical assistant to Dr. Philip Peng in national and international training on ultrasound-guided techniques in Pain Medicine.
Since 2018: Collaborator in the improvement of ultrasound-guided techniques for chronic spinal pain at Mayo Clinic.
Lecturer in more than 25 countries
Active training and mentoring of professionals in interventional ultrasound applied to pain

Sales de allí con optimismo y tu dolor crónico aliviado, mejorando así el ánimo, la capacidad de trabajo y la vida en general. Te reciben genial, el ambiente es muy tranquilo y el trato perfecto.

Todo el personal está siempre apoyando al paciente, ayudándose entre ellos, tanto los médicos como las enfermeras y el personal administrativo.

Recomiendo acudir a esta unidad si, como yo, tienes dolor crónico. Ellos te pueden ayudar a mejorar tu calidad de vida.
