What is
The bursae are small sac-like structures that are located between the muscles, tendons and ligaments in such a way that they allow their correct displacement and functioning. Some shoulder injuries produce their inflammation producing a condition known colloquially as shoulder bursitis, which causes very important pain phenomena in which only lifting the arm produces a very intense pain.

Symptoms
The pain usually occurs during daily activities involving shoulder movement.
Causes
- Trauma.
- Tendon wear and tear.
- Partial tears of the rotator cuff tendons with inflammation of adjacent structures.
- Arthrosis of the shoulder joint.
- Arthrosis of the acromioclavicular joint.
