MIVI Salud Expands the Facilities of the Pain Unit at the Sant Josep Clinic in Manresa

The new facility enhances the unit’s patient care capacity and includes a specialized pelvic floor service. Since it opened in May 2024, the team has treated nearly 900 patients.
The Pain Unit at Clínica Sant Josep, managed by MIVI Salud, is embarking on a new phase with facilities specifically designed to care for people with acute and chronic pain in Manresa and Central Catalonia.
The new facilities, which have been in operation since August and were officially opened on September 24, build on the collaboration that the two organizations began in 2024. The goal is to continue developing specialized and personalized care, with pathways designed to facilitate the patient’s journey through the clinic.
New Spaces to Improve Care
Located on the first floor of Building A at Clínica Sant Josep, the new facility has its own reception desk, two offices, a waiting room, changing rooms, and an operating room for performing advanced interventional procedures.
These facilities make it possible to optimize the organization of care and expand the range of specialized services, providing a more comfortable environment for patients that is better suited to the team’s work.
Nearly 900 people have been served since 2024
Since it opened in May 2024, the Pain Unit has treated nearly 900 people. Its care model is based on an individualized assessment of each case and an understanding of the impact that pain has on daily life.
The unit is led by the Dr. Carla Farré , a specialist in Anesthesiology and Pain Management, and is supported by a team of professionals in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Nursing.
The collaborative effort of these specialties makes it possible to design treatment plans aimed at relieving pain, improving function, and promoting each patient’s independence.
A New Specialized Pelvic Floor Service
The expansion includes a specialized pelvic floor service, led by the Dr. Georgia Romero , with experience in pelvic floor rehabilitation and chronic pelvic pain.
This service provides assessment, personalized treatment, and follow-up care for individuals with pelvic pain, urinary and fecal incontinence, prolapse, postpartum complications, and other functional disorders of the pelvic floor.
Their addition makes it possible to address these conditions through collaboration among professionals and in coordination with the other specialties at Clínica Sant Josep.
Treatments tailored to each patient
The Pain Unit treats conditions such as lower back and neck pain, pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and ankle, migraines, facet syndrome, plantar fasciitis, cancer-related pain, and neuropathic pain.
Based on each person’s clinical evaluation and needs, its portfolio of treatments includes outpatient interventional techniques, ultrasound-guided injections, radiofrequency therapy, regenerative therapies, neurostimulation, and specialized pharmacological treatment.
The choice of treatment approach is made on a case-by-case basis, within a care model that combines clinical expertise with patient support.
Specialized Pain Care in Central Catalonia
With these new facilities, MIVI Salud and Clínica Sant Josep are strengthening their partnership to bring specialized pain care to patients with private health insurance and those covered by mutual insurance companies in Central Catalonia.
